Gen Muhoozi Recieves Appreciation From President Museveni For Transforming Parade

President Yoweri Museveni has commended General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Uganda’s Chief of Defense Forces, for streamlining the Independence Day parade, making it shorter and smarter.

President Museveni further congratulated the CDF and the Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) for their efficient organization, noting that the soldiers completed their duties quickly and departed, rather than standing around all day as has been the norm in the past.

General Kainerugaba had visited Busia two days prior to the celebrations to inspect the parade preparations, demonstrating his hands-on approach to leadership.

In response, Gen Kainerugaba, who has been represented at the celebrations by his deputy, Lt Gen Sam Okiding, lauded the President for the recognition: “We (UPDF) thank His Excellency @KagutaMuseveni for recognising and appreciating the new parade drills.”

Meanwhile, the Ugandan leader noted that he is planning to persuade regional leaders so that roads linking East Africa to Central Africa Republic (C.A.R) and beyond should be built.

President Museveni also asked Uganda Airlines to look into the possibility of opening routes to C.A.R, noting that this would boost trade “with our brothers and sisters there.”

The C.A.R president His Excellency Faustin-Archange Touadéra, who is in Uganda at the invitation of President Museveni, thanked his host for inviting him to attend the celebrations.
