Gen Muhoozi Recieve Briefs Of Situation In South Sudan Ahead Of The Upcoming General Elections

The Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba who is also the Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations met with the outgoing and incoming chairpersons of the Ceasefire and Transitional Security Arrangements Monitoring and Verification Mechanism (CTSAMVM).

CTSAMVM is a body established by the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) to monitor the 2014 Ceasefire of Hostilities Agreement (CoHA) in South Sudan.

During the meeting, the outgoing chairman, Maj Gen Hailu Gonfa Eddosa, introduced his successor, Maj. Gen. Yitayal Gelaw Bitew, and provided a briefing to the Ugandan CDF on the current situation in South Sudan ahead of the upcoming general elections.

The meeting, held at the Special Forces Command Headquarters in Entebbe, was also attended by senior UPDF officers, including the Commander Land Forces Lt Gen Kayanja Muhanga, SFC Commander Maj Gen BD Mugisha, and Chief of Defense Intelligence and Security Maj Gen James Birungi.
