Today, The President of the Republic of Uganda Yoweri Museveni hosts His Excellency Cyril Ramaphosa, the President of South Africa for a series of high-level discussions at State House, Entebbe.
The meeting covered a wide range of topics including regional security, trade agreements, diplomatic cooperation, and various other significant matters that require thorough deliberation.
President Museveni highlighted the importance of collaboration between the two nations on various fronts. The fruitful exchange of ideas and insights during the meeting is expected to further strengthen the bilateral ties between Uganda and South Africa.
In attendance was the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba who added strategic military perspectives to the discussions.
Sources within State House revealed that discussions touched upon pressing issues, including the situation in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
The involvement of Uganda’s military in addressing regional security challenges was likely a key topic of conversation, considering its historical role in promoting peace and stability in the Great Lakes region.
